Assist a Cardiology Study
This program is designed for enthusiastic members interested in cardiology and medical imaging. As part of the training, you will gain hands-on experience with the C-arm system and be introduced to imaging-based therapies within a specialized discipline.
In this specific case, the training focuses on cardiac rhythm management, featuring a revolutionary pacemaker—the Aurora extravascular ICD implant. Unlike traditional implants, this innovative device places the leads in the chest wall rather than intravascularly. The procedure is performed using medical imaging guidance, eliminating the need for opening the thorax. Instead, the leads are implanted via a tunneling technique.
As a Junior Orsi participant, you will have the opportunity to observe how this advanced implantation technique is performed and understand its significance in modern cardiology and electrophysiology. This experience will provide valuable insights that may help guide your future career choices.
Additionally, after the X-ray support, participants will be given the opportunity to practice suturing techniques on cadaveric models.
