We’re also excited to welcome Prof. Dr. Roland Devlieger, Professor at KU Leuven and staff gynecologist-obstetrician at UZ Leuven, for a lecture on foetal robotic surgery and the latest innovations in the field.

Led by three expert embryologists, this hands-on workshop introduces participants to key clinical and laboratory procedures in assisted reproductive technology (ART). Through practical exercises using uterus models and simulators, students will gain experience in embryo loading and transfer while discovering the techniques that contribute to successful IVF outcomes.
Urological Point-of-Care Ultrasound - Dr. George Bou Kheir

Bladder and kidney imaging in practice.
Dr. George Bou Kheir introduces participants to the fundamentals of point-of-care ultrasound of the bladder and kidneys. Students will learn probe handling, orientation and image acquisition before practising real-time scanning on each other under expert supervision. An accessible first hands-on experience with ultrasound in everyday urological practice.

An introduction to robot-assisted surgery on the da Vinci system.

Take your first steps behind the console of one of the leading platforms in modern robotic surgery. Following an introduction to console setup, instrument control and camera navigation, participants work in small groups across five da Vinci systems, developing their precision, depth perception and instrument-handling skills.

Electrosurgery in gynecology and urology: principles and techniques in practice.
This hands-on workshop introduces the principles and practical applications of electrosurgery in gynecology and urology. Participants will explore techniques used in procedures such as transurethral and transcervical resections and gain practical experience with electrosurgical equipment, translating fundamental principles into modern surgical practice.

Hands-on IUD insertion: the GyneFix frameless copper IUD.
Hands-on IUD insertion: the GyneFix frameless copper IUD.
Discover the GyneFix frameless copper IUD and its distinctive approach to intrauterine contraception. Participants will learn how its small, flexible and frameless design differs from conventional IUDs and explore the principles of its fundal anchoring system. The workshop concludes with hands-on insertion practice, allowing students to develop the practical skills required for correct placement.
